I am a visual artist and craftsman with over 30 years' experience of arts in community settings and arts for health. I am passionate about increasing access to, and participation in, the arts.

I can teach, facilitate workshops and organise festivals. I have worked with male prisoners, homeless people, refugees, young truants and school pupils.

Working with young people:

  • Facilitated arts & crafts workshops with children and young people on the Sacred Arts Camps. 1996 to present day.
  • Worked with the State Private Schools Partnership on child soldier project. 2005.
  • Created playground installations with pupils in Kilmington Primary School. 2004.
  • Led Boats Adrift sculpture project at Woodroffe Secondary School, Lyme Regis. 2003.
  • Led Moving Kids art project at St Michael's Primary School, Lyme Regis. 2003.
  • Originated and led St. Ortons Children's Art Days in Warwickshire. 1994-1999.
  • Worked with primary school children on two arts projects for a church in Fulham. 2001/2.
  • Led adventure training in Wales with excluded young men from City of Westminster. 2000.
  • Led Vision Quest retreat for 19 & 20 year olds in Bala, Wales. 2005.

Working with adults:

  • Co-founded and led courses under The Elder & the Ash, a mentoring training for men, including retreats for fathers & sons, fathers & daughters and for men surviving loss of work & relationship. 2000 to present day.
  • Taught art studies at St. Aldates College, Oxford. 1972.
  • Visiting tutor at Middlesex Polytechnic, textile department. 1987.
  • Guest lecturer at Open University of the Arts, Yorkshire. 1994.
  • Led Face 2 Face art course in male identity at HMP Belmarsh Prison. 2004.
  • Ran art course for detainees at Campsfield Removal Centre, Oxford, creating board games as a metaphor for the journey of life. 2005.
  • Installation of giant board game as a metaphor for the journey of life at Oxford Visual Arts Development Agency. 2006
